Hi! I am Purvee Patel. My love of photography started in high school, in the days of black and white film and darkrooms, and it followed me into college where I explored different photographic processes, refined my style and earned my Bachelor of Fine Arts. What drew me then is still what I love most now - photography lets me capture the around us and tell a story, honest, meaningful, and full of heart.
One of my clearest memories leading me to become a professional photographer is my first Mother's Day with my oldest son. My husband took us to Great Falls for a picnic, and I remember thinking how great it would be to have someone there to document us, simply enjoying that season of life, in a beautiful just being ourselves. It didn't take long to dive in and figure out how to do this for others. As my children grew, I became obsessed (in the best way) with documenting the little moments, the way time feels both ordinary and fleeting all at once.
I have taken thousands of pictures- I like to think of the images of my loved ones as my "little photo den" - a cozy place I can return to whenever life moves too fast. My hope is to create that same kind of timeless den of memories for you- photographs that feel natural, full of heart, and true to your family.

I'm always planning the next trip
Before The Little Photo Den, I taught special education and art - so I'm very at home with kids being kids. Seeing their expressions and capturing their personalities is one of the favorite things about my photography.
I am a former teacher
Scrabble, game nights, and NYT puzzles are my happy place. I love the kind of togetherness that comes with them.

I'll forever be trying to convince my husband we should live abroad for a year or two but in the meantime, I'll take all the travel I can get.
Moms are often the ones documenting everyone else. I’m always intentional about capturing moms with their children to create natural, connected images that they'll hold onto for years.
